Very incomplete MacOS X Core API.
macosx:machine-name[procedure] (macosx:machine-name) => STRING
The machine name from core services. Probably not the same as (get-host-name).
macosx:short-user-name[procedure] (macosx:short-user-name) => STRING
The short name for the user. Based on the current process uid.
macosx:long-user-name[procedure] (macosx:long-user-name) => STRING
The long name for the user. Based on the current process uid.
macosx:machine-location[procedure] (macosx:machine-location) => VECTOR/4
Returns a 4 element vector:
- Latitude in degrees north to 2 decimal places.
- Longitude in degrees east to 2 decimal places.
- Number of seconds to add for daylight saving time.
- Number of seconds east of GMT, includes daylight saving time status.
macosx:metric?[procedure] (macosx:metric?) => BOOLEAN
Using the metric system?
macosx:computer-name[procedure] (macosx:computer-name [STORE]) => STRING
The computer name from system configuration.
macosx:console-user[procedure] (macosx:console-user [STORE]) => VECTOR/3
Returns a 3 element vector:
- The (short) name of the console user.
- The user id of the console user.
- The group id of the console user.
macosx:local-host-name[procedure] (macosx:local-host-name [STORE]) => STRING
The local host name from system configuration. Probably not the same as (get-host-name).
macosx:location-name[procedure] (macosx:location-name [STORE]) => STRING
macosx:session-info[procedure] (macosx:session-info) => VECTOR/10
Returns a 10 element vector:
- The security session identifier number.
- A root session?
- Has graphics access?
- Has tty?
- Is a remote session?
- Short user name.
- User identification number.
- Console hardware number.
- Login operations complete?
- On console?
macosx:main-bundle-path[procedure] (macosx:main-bundle-path) => STRING
The full pathname of the currently running executable, including the program name.
macosx:tick-count[procedure] (macosx:tick-count) => INTEGER
Returns an unsigned 32-bit integer that indicates the current number of ticks (1/60th of a second) since the system last started up.
macosx:delay[procedure] (macosx:delay TICKS) => INTEGER
Suspend execution for the specified number of TICKS. Returns an unsigned integer that indicates the ticks after the delay.
macosx:gestalt[procedure] (macosx:gestalt SELECTOR) => INTEGER
Calls the Gestalt Manager with specified SELECTOR and returns an unsigned 32-bit integer.
The SELECTOR can be a string, symbol, or an unsigned integer. When a string or symbol it is converted to a Macintosh 4-byte character value - an unsigned 32-bit integer. The string length may not be greater than 4 but can be less; space padding will be performed.
macosx:open-url[procedure] (macosx:open-url URL-STRING)
Opens the URL-STRING using the system-dependent default application.

- Needs "check-errors" extension.
